Oxidized Bismuth Blogger

After the smashing success of Iron Blogger in San Francisco, a subset of bold and daring individuals have decided to start a parallel group, Oxidized Bismuth Blogger, with a focus on short-form musings – it could be a business idea, a cool hack, or just something mindblowing that fell out of your skull. Far too often great ideas fall through the cracks and OBB is here to catch them with a reassuring trust fall.

To get the ideas flowing, here is an excerpt from oxidized blogger Kendall Webster’s idea for Underground Submarine Services, LLC:

Everyone knows that commuting in the Bay Area is a headache. Constant accidents on 101, bottlenecks on 880 and on 280… wait, where’s 280? Public transportation isn’t much better, taking the BART and Caltrain is often more expensive than driving.

Underground Submarine Services, LLC provides submarine shuttles linking San Francisco and the East Bay to Silicon Valley – a fun and secretive solution to commuters’ woes. Adding ferries to the bay is legally infeasible due to red tape from environmental laws protecting the aesthetic and air quality of the Bay Area. USS shuttles get around these two issues because you can’t see ‘em and they run on nuclear energy (with zero local emissions). Plus, the service is a secret so environmentalists, NIMBYists and the legal system won’t find out about it anyway.
